The Program/Project Manager is responsible for developing program/project plans and estimates using clients PMO engagement model and artifacts for end to end program/project management, scoping and requirements through implementation and deployment. The program/project manager proactively monitors and manages execution of deliverables. The job requires interfacing with Vendors, Service Delivery Managers/Team, Technical / cross functional leads and the Solution Architects.
Projects may involve system build-out, system change, the creation of new services, integrations or the transition of clients infrastructure. The PM will be expected to coordinate and lead work undertaken by resources in the technical and service management domains for each project. The Project Manager will act as the lead for projects making necessary decisions based on the input from technical experts. This requires knowledge and experience of building or operating data center/infrastructure systems. (Note: this is not a management role. It is purely program/ project management)
Project/Phase Planning and Estimating
• Define the overall scope
• Develop program/project/phase plans and estimates through negotiations with the client (or client team)
End to End Phase/Project Management
• Proactively manage and monitor execution of deliverables and status in an assertive manner • Understand the fundamental solution being developed/deployed - its business value, blueprint, how it fits with the overall architecture, risks and issues, etc • Escalate issues to management which cannot be resolved at the Program/Project level • Ensure cross segment/team project issue, risk, and/or conflict resolution is occurring • Manage critical path, dependencies, contingency, scope/change requests, and overall budget performance (EAC vs Budget) • "Own" all projects deliverables, "ensure" proper communication between teams and quality levels; responsible for end to end solution delivery • Manage all Change Requests, validate all budget/schedule impacts from Leads, obtain the customer commitment, and communicate approved changes to all teams
Implementation Planning and Management
• Create the solution Implementation Plan and manage the overall implementation effort with input from all the other Segments".
- Minimum of 5 years of Project Management
Experience with PMing Infrastructure projects
